Where'd you have this made? Or do you know the font type? I'd like something very similar, just a different color.

I had it made at Fast Signs. If you take the Cobalt logo in they can match it pretty close. I can't remember the name of the font but I can try to look it up. I put it on a chrome background per BB's suggestion and it turned out pretty good

I might just take your photo in and have them match it. There's a Fast Signs down the road I believe. Any idea what height the letters are? Mine will have to be in a similar place, just above the swim platform, since there isn't much room above the rub rail on the back on the CS1s. Since that part of the boat is black, I'm thinking I'll do the chrome background like yours but with white letters.

It's been awhile since I did it but I'm thinking the height is like 4 inches. Mine is on the swimdeck, with a fairly strong curve. If you don't have a flat spot to work with, you'll need to curve your graphics slightly for it to look right, otherwise it will come out looking like what it would be... a flat straightline graphic on a curve.

Measure your width and height of the area you have to work with. Then get a center point. From there put a level or straight edge on it and get a measurement of the curve, or lift on each end. It doesn't have to be exact, but try to get it close.

When I made my order, I had them "bend" the graphic from the center upwards to match the curve. They'll send you a proof when it's done.

If you've never installed a graphic, here's how:

When you pick it up from the store, it'll be all one piece with masking. Center and place where you want it, then tape it in a couple places on one half to hold it in place. Then from the other end, peel the masking with the graphic sticking to it from the backing. Go about halfway and tear the backing away, then carefully lay the masking back down while spreading the air bubbles out of the letters. Go slow and deliberate and don't get in a hurry. Then go to the other side, peel the masking back and do the other half. Once the backing is gone and the graphic is smooth and flat, slowly peel the masking off, and there you go!

By having them bend the graphics it will fit much better and subconsciously look "right".

What are you going to name your boat? Be sure to post a picture when you're done!

Don't laugh...the deal was that I could get a new boat if I let my wife pick the name. So, it's going to be Carpe Mare, which is Latin for 'Seize the Sea'. 'Seize the Seas' would have been better, but that's Carpe Marie, and I don't want a name in the name, if ya know what I mean. It's a bit goofy either way, since we are on an inland lake and not the ocean, but oh well. The more I think about it, it has started to grow on me.

It'll be going on the transom just above the swim platform, so its basically flat. That's good to know about bending the graphics; I hadn't thought about that even being possible.

Maybe she'll let you go with
"Carpe Videre" - Seize the See, since everyone will be looking at that bodacious boat!

I would never laugh at that. I made the same deal with My Century - Named it "Catemarina" after my wife, Caterina.

I won't tell you what I did/gave up to get this boat.

I am thinking about "Ha Det Bra" it's Norwegian and has 2 meanings. "Have it Good" and "Goodbye". I think it is a pretty good name, but my First Mate complains that no one will know what it means and all they will see is the "Bra".

We lived in Norway for 6 years, and the funds partly paid for the boat.

Opinions?
