Re: June 2020 pictures
Great pictures! I love the St. Croix having grown up about 5 miles south of Hudson on the river. I worked at the gas docks at the St. Croix Marina as a teen and then as a lifeguard at the city of Hudson beach all the way through college. Through my teen and early twenties we’d put about 350 hours a summer on our ski/fishing/sail boats up and down the river.Snowman8 wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2020 8:38 pm It was a good day on the St. Croix river today. We really like the St.Croix! We put in at the Windmill in Afton MN. Some days we drop anchor a few miles south at Kinnickinnick and don't move all day, others we run 30 plus miles down river for lunch. We have been boating on the river so long that we have kinda spoiled ourselves and don’t like being trapped on small lakes anymore. We usually end up going to the river or a few times a year we might run up to one of the Brainerd lakes. We like the Whitefish chain and sometimes end up on Gull.MnLakeBum wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 8:22 amGreat pictures! I love the St. Croix having grown up about 5 miles south of Hudson on the river. Thanks Tusc! It really is easy once you get up. I still have to rely on the rope until I learn more control of the board. Front to back and side to side axis and all that...and I was throwing the rope in towards the end, but didn't last more than a minute because I'd get to far back. When you fall it's no big deal because your only going 11 mph!Tuscany wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 6:39 amMy hero also!Ytmsn wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:32 am Yesterday the water was perfect!

Re: June 2020 pictures
We thought for many years that we would wind up on the St. Croix and we actually still own a couple of boat slips that we rent in the St. Croix Marina. My sister lives in Hudson and my best friend is retiring soon to a spot on the river just across and a little north of Windmill. We decided about 5 years ago to make our retirement spot Gull Lake and completed our dream home in 2018. The Covid thing has meant that we’ve been up here about 4-5 days each week the last couple months so we’ve already put over 35 hours on the boat engines and a bunch of time on the SeaDoos as well. If you are ever on the Gull Chain and see us out on the dock or deck, stop by for a beer or drink. We are 1/2 mile north of Madden’s on the same(east) side of the Peninsula and our home is hard to miss.Snowman8 wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 9:54 amWe really like the St.Croix! Got her out for the first time Saturday. Did some buddy boating with a neighbor that just got a new to him Searay. Was too busy getting pics of him dragging the kids around than of us, but the boat ran GREAT.
