Yeah, I had similar issue. Sorry can't find my original thread to link to. The words above should light up. I am thinking you might have to have the NAV lights on for them to illuminate but don't remember for sure. Sorry not sure what controller runs it as my dealer fixed under warranty. but on the R series at least, both left and right words should illuminate.
