Get lube for those knobs tooSAB220 wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 9:01 am I sent CDC industries sales an email. I'm thinking a sailboat deck equipment lubricant may be the best, but most are dry. Any water "resistance" spray will be gone within a week. I'm also thinking installing a ladder grease fitting for waterproof grease on the backside of the ladder maybe the only solution. I have to show my local Cobalt dealer an item I need (tower knobs) ...I guess I'll include the ladder.

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke/Repair (maintenance)
My 2004 220 ladder below (front). Ladder is very difficult to operate in & out, and as we know operates at or below the waterline. Hardware is also shot (one very special rubber shoulder washer, and 3 rubber washers). Looking for waterproof lubricant spray grease that will stick around for the season and not hurt the lake, if that's possible. The ladder is calling for help, suggest you check yours! Aside from a dealer, may have go to Grainer store and have the guy look at these washers. Probably will have buy a 100 to get 2. Diameter is important but thickness may be more important because of the mounting bracket. Another project for the winter.

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
Good information above. My 2005 ladder looks very similar to the one pictured above. Does anyone know the OEM for it? Bonus points if someone can point me in the direction of a three step version that extends a little deeper down.

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
I am also working on my ladder. Mcmaster Carr may have the insulating sleeve washers your looking for. I am going to measure what’s remaining of mine and try and come up with a match. I also need a new ladder rubber cover one of mine is at the bottom of deep creek lake.
Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
Update: I lubricated the ladder by placing the waterproof grease on the piston part (part of the ladder that extends) and it goes up and down by hand "better". Its on my list to find, and improve, the washers. I'm thinking nylon hardware may be better then rubber. I showed the dealer the ladder and he shook his head. I wish I knew internally how the ladder worked. There's gotta be a spring in there that's in rough shape. Wish I could dissemble. Yes knowing the OEM would be nice but since there no name/label/seal I have a feeling it a 100% a Cobalt design.
If anyone discovers ladder hardware please post P/N's and source. thanks

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
I’m looking at oil impregnated bronze as a solution to the washers. I may have to machine to the correct size but they should last longer and wear better.

Nice solution. Would you be able to post pics of that Daniel?
