Hi All - new to the forum as well. I’m the jerk that bought the 03 282 with twin 5.7’s that 20mm is referring to above. Thanks for not calling me a bunch of names 20mm.
I’m just curious how the hunt is going. I’ve been looking for months and months and couldn’t find anything priced appropriately for what it was. I almost settled on a pretty nice Sea Ray 270 slx until I drove it. It was nice, clean, and pretty fast (had 8.2 with 430hp) but then I rode in my bosses Cobalt 292 and decided I was getting a Cobalt.
Sales guy at the lake txted me and said he found 03 282 with twins and 120hrs and I said I’ll take it. Had already given him a deposit to hold a boat I had passed on so it was maybe a minute from when I got txt to when I got boat.
Anyway 20mm I took no pleasure in getting in front of you as I know how hard it is to find something and as I read through this tread I was like oh wow he’s talking about me. What a small world now with technology.
I was curious to hear if you’ve found anything? Anyway, I hope you have found something even better. If not, happy hunting and thes 282’s with twins are sweeeet.

In today's market you can't wait or it will literally be gone in a minute. That's just the way it is. Congrats

Crazy Brad!!! So glad to see you got it and no offense meant by my earlier post. Funny thing is that you and I were two of three people he let know about your boat. I was getting texts with pics and then called him. My mistake since almost as soon as he picked up he said, "Sorry man, just got a text that the first guy wants it." I had a deposit with him but you were first in line anyway. How crazy is that? Beautiful boat you have and if I remember right you had your daughter with you.
Well funny how things work out. Two days later / Monday our mutual friend called to say a guy at LOTO wanted to trade up to a 336 and guess what he wanted to trade? A blue 2002 282 with less than 400 hours. My wife and I bought it today! Meticulously cared for and reminded me of your boat in terms of the condition. it was a few bucks less since it does not have twins and the guy left everything in the boat, new ropes, fenders, some life jackets, anchor etc. Has the volvo 420hp motor. My wife and I took it out with our mutual friend 'M' late Friday afternoon and loved it. Has the tower, corsa exhaust, new Kenwood head unit and new JL audio speakers. This is my first boat and have to say the power was plenty for me and what I want to do with it. He did not hammer down all the way and we hit high 40's. What really blew me away was how tight a big boat like that can turn. Went back out today with the previous owner and then he showed me the two bimini tops, bow and cockpit covers and mooring cover - along with all the things he does to maintain it and how everything operates.
We are beyond thrilled. Would love to meet up sometime and check out your boat. PM me when you get a chance. Congrats to you and drive her in good health!

Right on! You just made my day! I met the gentleman you bought your boat from Friday. Hell of a nice guy. Told me he had just sold his 02 282. I was hoping that it was you who got it. After a long ride out in the main channel and pulling tubers all weekend the twins are overkill...going 60mph with what seemed like 6’-8’ swells was fun for a minute but not at the gas dock. But damn it sure cruises nice between 25 and 35. I’ll pm you and we can definitely meet up and gawk at each others rides sometime!

Yeah the seller has gone above and beyond in helping us with the boat and making sure we were comfortable with it over all. Guy is pretty meticulous like I am. Keeping it at his place/slip while we both get our lift situations figured out which is another saga entirely. He bought another lift for his new boat, I bought his...total domino effect however our friend at Village has everything coordinated. Already a couple of things on my list to do like bow speaker covers, transom entry light cover, etc. I'm sure there's an endless amount of stuff I could do to this boat.
The sound is awesome though with the Corsa pipes and can't imagine what those twins sound like. Look forward to meeting up!

Maybe john should sell badges we can put on our boat so if someone else from this site notices it they will know we are in the "club". It would be for active members once they do x amount of post (be it 50 or 100).

Congrats to both of you. We spent last week at LOTO around the 27 mile mark in our 232. During the week it was no issue, but the weekend is another story. We were fine, but the "chop" made it tough. Had to make a run to the Little Niangua to tube with the kids and swim.
The 282 is the perfect size for that lake full time.

Even smaller world update....The guy that bought the green cobalt I posted pics of earlier in the post bought the trailer from the guy that I bought my boat from. That 262 is in perfect shape and he got on heck of a boat. Green cobalt guy if you are on here congrats on your new boat! (and trailer)
