Aslan7, I can’t answer your question about the black square but will check it out when I go pick it up.

I also would know about the cover or steering wheel.

I do recall him saying the guy he bought it from bought the new skins from cobalt ($6k) because that was what he wanted. They may have changed the steering wheel also.

Roger that rd.

Does it come with the carpet? I would ask about the filler cushions as well. They can be very difficult to source on their own.

Thanks for the compliments.

I’m watching the weather here. Looks like three days of rain. Really don’t want to pull it home in the rain. There was some type of cover in one compartment but I don’t know if it’s towable type.

I thought it should have carpet too. The wife doesn’t want it 🤔. I will ask about it and the filler cushions.

The fiberglass floor without carpet or some type of sea dek material will be very slick when wet. Be careful if going that route.

Nice boat - it looks like the boat is not pulled up on the trailer all the way - the bow should be right up against the rubber in the top picture. My guess is that you cannot move it now (just be careful until you can reset it when putting back on trailer). Enjoy

Mine came with snap in sea grass - I tried going the no carpet route in an effort for easier cleaning - the white floor always showed dirt and looked dirty. I went back to always using and it makes the interior look so much better

You get an A+ rd. Nice job. You are going to love that big block sounding Captain's Call on start up too. :D

Is that VP plastic engine cover faded or just dirty?
Steering wheel looks like it was replaced or modified at some point.

Curious what the small square is by your left knee at the helm? :?:

.
That box must be the trim tabs. It’s marked bow up bow down.

And yes, I love loud but I like quiet too. Glad it’s my call 😀

I noticed that and we backed it down his ramp so I could winch it forward before I left.

Re: New Cobalt owner. Finally!!

It was a long week full of anxious moments. I left a deposit on the boat with the plan to get a cashiers check for the balance.

It took a few days for the owner to find both the boat title and something showing he was the owner of the trailer. Texas doesn’t title boat trailers and all he had was a manufacturer’s statement of origin or mso.

Several times he became agitated and threatened to back out and resist the boat. Because of a health condition he admits he is easily agitated. I recognized this and handle him accordingly.

Now, the boat. Last week me and the owner decided to lower the trailer jack to help my wife climb in for a look. This raised the stern enough that the open engine hatch was forced into a overhanging structure in his shop. It f’d up the upholstery. 😢 he has offered to pay for the repair but I won’t bother him with it. I was the dummy cranking the winch.

Note to self, sell stuff while inside dimly lit shop. The lower unit will need to be painted this off season.

Good news is there is an extra cushion in the compartment in front of the helm. I assume it is the filler cushion? Will check that tomorrow.

Unbelievably there is no Volvo Penta dealer in Lafayette. On my way home I stopped by a dealer and grabbed an impeller. Tomorrow I will service the engine and lower while my wife cleans. Gonna hit a water body somewhere.

Right now it’s wind down with John Jameson 🥃

Great catch before leaving. I know there is a lot of excitement going on the day you pick up a boat. Enjoy that boat!!
