Unless you're going under a lot of bridges when lake is up, folding is fine. We've never have had to lower ours, but checked out how easy it was in an emergency. There are small lights in arch if you get the RGB lighting package. Tgrace picture shows them.

I do not have the rgb package on my boat and the tower still has the LED’s they are just blue only.
