I pay to have mine done. I put the boat in the driveway before going to work. When I return from work I put the boat back in the garage. Worry free.

Trolling? Hyjacking I understand. Guess I'm a little old for trolling.
I didn't mean to do anything bad.my apologize. It's just the W word is bad to boaters.

That's good to hear AJC... as I thought you may have been offended. You know how it's hard to read folks on the ole interweb.
Still, I have banned the W word like I ban Christmas music until after Halloween (I used to ban it til after Thanksgiving but gave up on that one with the family).
But to smoooooooth things over...I'll give you a pic to help with your desire.

I don't know as much about the Merc, but you can get a tank and all the parts needed to connect to the engine for my boat from West marine. My best recollection is I had to disconnect the regular fuel line from the boat and connect my own from the fogging tank.

I guess I've never seen that. Do you mix the gas oil mix in there? Nice idea I just know they remove the fuel filter and put the mix in there and run it? Again for me $150 to have them do it is cheap insurance.

This is what I plan to do. Mix gas oil stabilizer per specifications of merc or Volvo. Run boat for specific amount of time and rpm. I would run up to temp for when t-stat opens. Shut boat off. Pull all drain plugs. After water is out reinsert plugs. Then run 5 gallons of -100 rv anti freeze (prob starbrite or west marine brand) through outdrive. Reattach fuel line and change fuel filter. Then u r done. $150 is cheap insurance because the antifreeze is $60 and the oil gas mix is $15-20. So I agree not that bad.

Months ago I states that I want to convert my fuel line fittings from stationary to something with a swivel head to screw on and off. Finally tracked down the parts. Let me know if u r interested.
