We only have salt water here, and I would take up Paddle Boarding before I gave up the swim platform to a set of outboards!
We swim off it pretty well every day we go out.

Outboards........I just don't get it

If I ever buy another boat, which I doubt given where we live, it will definitely have outboards. The swim deck is still plenty useable, and if someone complains, the walk the plank.
Outboards are more versatile, allowing easier use in the salt... in a place where I’d rather live, and hopefully may soon for the entire winter.

Of course that's you I rather have twin 600s😂😂😂
Really twin 300 will dock so much easier. I don't know the diff Between the single 600 and the twin 300. I'm sure someone will post it. Lol
It seems to me twin outboards really kill the swim platform feature of the boat, an area used by our kids to hang out on, enter/exit the water, etc. At least with a single you get a flip down boarding step. But a 600 hp single is $70,000 which I’m betting is more expensive than twin 300s. And, as pointed out twins add redundancy and help with maneuvering close to the dock. I’m glad I boat in freshwater and can opt for an I/O setup.
Which is why we have the I/O. If I ever switch to a pontoon, I'll probably still go I/O. I love the back of the boat to be the staging area for most activities. Plus the drop down step.

I got to touch an R8 with a single 425hp yamaha last summer. It seemed to still have plenty of platform for me to cove out and enjoy sitting on the platform with my feet in the water. We'll have to see how they do twins. But a twin 28' boat would be perfect for the lake I am on.

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like the look of the arch at all. It just doesn’t seem to have sleek lines.

Agree. Glad they have the normal one as an option too

I don’t like it either. Nor the price tag. You can pick up a twin I/O with hard top r30 for the price they want for a twin 300hp r8
