A previous owner added a rotating ON-OFF type valve which when turned ON would allow fuel to pass thru the added line to the attachment on the stern. Looks to be a one-way quick disconnect fitting on the stern similar to an air compressor fitting. I’ve never seen that type of arrangement installed on a boat before

For extra fuel tank. Did this happen to be an old drug running boat?

DM it looks like the fuel flows off the boat. if you zoom in on that silver filter it shows the directional flow towards the stern. . Maybe drug runners installed it in backwards?

You can install a fuel filter either direction but it has a much greater capacity in the correct direction.

True..hey get a vacuum pump and suck out that fuel tank quickly…or have your wife hold the attached 5 gallon jug on her lap for that extra distance to the restaurant. Flows both ways. So versatile!

I tried to figure it out but I didn't get the Schrader valve set up at the transom?

I’m leaning toward it being a way to put fuel into the boat from a portable tank. But then the flow direction for the filter suggests the opposite. But then, how many times do you need to pump out the tank?

Unless the installer of said devises opines, we con only speculate
