2am, January 23rd, this year. Buncombe Creek on Texoma. Was perfect, except for the temperature.sailor55330 wrote: Sat May 18, 2019 8:50 am I’ve probably watched every video out there as I had never put a power boat on a trailer when we first got the old boat. Now the theory behind it is good but ever notice that the ramp is always perfect, it’s deserted, the dock is empty and it’s dead calm?
I’ve never seen that ramp in my life

Re: Boat ramp launching etiquette
I ran into a new experience at the boat ramp this past Sunday on Lake Anna in Virginia (Sturgeon Creek Marina). I normally get back to the ramp late to avoid the crazy, but I had my dash go out (no power to any of the gauges), so I decided to end the day early putting me at the ramp around 4p. It was busy but not crazy. Since it was just me, I was going to tie up and get the trailer. My favorite spot was open so I headed in - but there was a woman with her young daughter in her arms in the water at the ramp. Odd, but not totally unexpected. As I approach, the lady says she is saving the spot for her husband. I asked where he was and she pointed behind me. Her husband was in a pontoon behind me, so I asked the guy in the pontoon if the lady was his and he looked very embarrassed. As he passed he asked if I was going to use the spot... he recognized I was ahead of him. Not in a rush and not wanting a pissy wifey impacting me (or her husband), I told him to go ahead. I used a steeper ramp and avoided the nutty behavior.
Anyway, I've never seen someone use themselves to block a ramp spot before. First time for everything...

Re: Boat ramp launching etiquette
It seems to be getting fairly common in parking lots.... it was only a matter of time!AsLan7 wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2020 10:03 pm.TwoBurgers wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2020 6:44 pm I ran into a new experience at the boat ramp this past Sunday on Lake Anna in Virginia (Sturgeon Creek Marina).
