I'm sure I have some in the basement or I can look in the boat for you.

That would be great. No rush though. After all boating season doesn’t start in Texas for another month.

2004 220

For the record, my hatch gas shocks are OEM P/N: SL29-40 (40 psi?). I did find one place where it appears to be "in stock" but most places are out-of-stock. I don't know if you guys have other suppliers in case the check-out process fails, or I get a email 3 days later that my order can't get filled, etc. I'm also assuming the P/N has the correct female ball type ends, and the SS shock mounting pivot points pads (round knob) on the hull and hatch with the pins don't wear. Thanks

I'm thinking of going up to 60lbs. That beast is heavy.
Plus you can Google the SL29- 40 and find off brands as well.

Yes I agree and that's why I'm asking especially when it get wet its wicked heavy. I wondered if somebody did that option to increase lbs. As a matter of fact I think I'll try the 60 lbs. I just didn't want it bouncy as i cruise around if you know what I mean.

Yep or even 50. I'll be changing mine. I don't think it will ever bounce open the way it's designed.

Well if i change to 50 lbs I might not notice a difference if I change to 60 there should be a difference. And, I'm always taken those shocks out to get at the engine ( replace with 2 x 4"). Thanks I

BBP - back2boatng.com

All - Make sure you order 1 (1 set, 2 each) not 2 (2 sets, 4 each) which I did. Now I to have to return 1 set to back2boatng.com

I only wish the 2004 - 220 engine hatch had gas hinges, or gas shocks on the outboard edge (Port & STBD) of the hatch instead of gas shocks right in the middle on the engine compartment because I remove these piston shocks constantly to work on the engine. Maybe the newer boats have hinges, or a brand other then Cobalt. There's got to be a better way....I think it will be a 2020 project...
