That is the plan now that the other drive is out of the picture :)

T550, if yours is quite corroded (difficult to tell from the pics), you may have to do a complete pull off and repaint. From the looks of it on this end though, I don't think yours is that bad yet. This is bad:

I did some work on the upper last weekend. Started sanding and found paint, primer, then decals, then paint, then primer. Someone painted over the factory decals I guess. Most of the gray in the pics above was exposed primer. I ran out of paint and daylight before I could get to the lower unit. Upper looks pretty good, hopefully it will last. I used the Mercury branded paint and primer.

Didn't take any good pics, here's the best I have so far. We are in Albuquerque visiting family this weekend and in Hawaii next weekend. Not sure if I'll get to work on the lower this week, but hopefully it will all look good soon.

Reposting same pics from my thread on the reproduction decals, shows off the paint a bit. I'm hoping it holds up ok.

Man that lower unit looks ugly now that the upper is done.

man, she will look fantastic when that lower unit is "shined" up with that Merc paint. Decals really make it PoP. Great work T550.

btw, are you going to add the serial numbers to the spaces on the decals?

There's no serial number on the current transom assembly sticker, and it was it good enough shape that I didn't replace it. I looked through the service records and it looks like the engine coupler was replaced in 2009, I'm not sure if they maybe replaced the transom assembly too? Or maybe the serial number just wore off. I didn't see a place for the drive serial anywhere, is there one?

Does anyone know where the 8.2L decals that came with my set are supposed to go? I looked at a bunch of pics of Bravo drives and didn't see any engine size decals. I didn't put them on, debating if I should or not.

The 8.2 doesn't go on. Not sure why they included them. Put them on the front of the drive as your looking at it?

Thanks Nauti!

BB, I thought about that or maybe on the trim rams since there are 2 of them. Or if they didn't come from the factory I might just leave them off.
