That is exactly the issue I had.
I'm going to have the dealership pull the boat out once the season is over so I just did a temporary fix.
Bought this and spliced it in versus trying to run the wire through the hull.

Works like a charm!

Awesome. Thanks for that. I’m guessing the dealer will replace it since it’s under warranty. Assuming parts and labor?

Yes, since it's still under warranty they'll replace it for free. Parts and labor.
They do charge $250 to haul the boat out of the lake.
So everyone knows, Cobalt told me they'll contribute $100 towards any warranty work to help cover additional service fees (like hauling the boat out). You have to request it from the dealer though.

Best of luck to you Jcm256.

Thanks! Mine is on a trailer so I’ll bring it to my dealer and hope they can get on it soon. I’ve had a string of bad luck and still waiting on cobalt to send another part. Caught a rock from a log truck and shattered my from port side windshield on Memorial Day weekend. Still waiting on that part!

I have a 2020 R5 as well, and I’m having the exact same issue. The issue coincided with the replacement of my trip pump. Trim sender being replaced today, but I did not know about the override. Great information. Dealer told me they’re having a rash of these issues right now.
I loce this forum. If you look around, you can almost always find the helpful info you need. Y’all be safe.
