For years if you wanted to get a brand beer you could only get it in 3.2. You can get craft beers at 6 point but anything like Coors or Budweiser was in 3.2. That's about to change this year though with a new vote last fall

Ahh yeah Colorado was kinda like that. Grocery stores could only sell 3.2 beer, but liquor stores could sell the real stuff. Dumb if you ask me, every grocery store had a liquor store next door, so all it did was cost shoppers an extra stop.

But worse was the liquor problem where you had to leave a bottle in every bar with your name one it!!!! No telling how many dollars worth of Crown Royale I left in OK.

Luckily I saw the error of my ways and have been sober now for 17 yrs.
Congrats on 17 years, no small accomplishment.

Thanks liquid. No prude here, still keep a fully stocked bar, beer in the fridge, and wine on the shelves. I won't mix your drink for you, that's where I draw the line. But...for me, I reached by quota of alcohol early. Drank enough to last me a lifetime.

Sounds like my kind of prude! I'd be glad to come to your house and drink your whiskey!

We went to downtown OKC yesterday for Mrs YT's B-day and had dinner, and afterwards took a ride on one of the canal boats.Since we got on the water I wanted to share some pics with ya'll!

These things are electric powered. Pretty impressive with all those people on board!

This is the Devon Energy Tower in the background of OKC. I always thought it looks a little like the Tower of Sauron. There's a restaurant at the top with the best view in town!

There is a bronze display depicting the Land Run of 1889. It's the largest bronze display in the world. 46 figurines total, representing Oklahoma as the 46th State. This thing stretches out for quite a ways, and they are HUGE! It comes across the canal. They even have hoofprints and wagon tracks embedded into the concrete.

These guys handle these boats like a boss! I wish my docking skills were half as good. Our guy would get us in a cool spot and spin the boat really slow for photos. Amazing... Our guy is a teacher and does this as a summer job. He's been driving for 12 years, and our canal isn't much older than that. Lots of progress down there going on, and from what he said, lots more coming!

Very cool Yt. Happy BDay Mrs. YT
Is the restaurant on top of that light pole looking building?

Look at the electric motor on this cat. I saw it yesterday when I posted the outboard one. How ironic.

Same motor on these Canal boats. He said he can run 4 miles an hour with a full load of people, which is about half the speed that catamaran runs. These little Motors are powerful!

I guess only running 7 knots would be fine if you're not in a hurry to get anywhere, but eight miles an hour it's pretty slow. Heck, I dock qat a faster speed than that!

Seriously, everything is going to Electric Power and the technology is advancing every day. They even have electric powered dirt bikes. I guess I'm just an old gear head, so I want to hear the sound of exhaust and feel the throb of an engine.

I also think that the claim of being better for the climate is a false narrative. Maybe the end user, yeah, but what about the power it takes to charge those batteries? What about the footprint it takes to produce those batteries? I'm a dinosaur so I still run on dinosaur fuel...

Dont forget about the bombing of the federal building in the middle 90's. A very impressive museum and memorial gardens to the event. I grew up there and moved away (to KC) in the late eighties. Been back several times. City gets prettier every time.

What a great town! Such history , and the Mrs had a great bday! Even with you crawling all over the boat like a little kid asking questions!

I'm sure you asked if you could drive? I'd be tempted!
