Finally got a chance to put our boat on a scale today. I know you never ask a lady her weight but....little over 500lbs on the tongue.

I was honestly surprised, I was guessing 650 - 700. The dry weight of the boat is listed at 4600, our trailer is around 1,250. The dry weight doesn't include the engine upgrade, the arch, and the fuel tank which was totally full from winter storage, of course most of that weight sits far enough back on the trailer that I doubt it changes tongue weight much. I have always guessed the total weight to be about 6,500lbs so we are at about 8% on the tongue.

Scale worked great, I weighed myself before we did the boat and it was dead on accurate. We made sure to get the boat trailer level on the scale, ended up setting it about the same height as it sits on the truck. First reading was 500, second was 525 and third was 525. Good enough for me.

Let me know when you want to buy the scale from me Sailor, it is nice to know the weight.

8% is in the right range IMO. I think your estimate of total weight is probably fairly accurate, maybe even a little on the low side. My boat is listed at 4000 lbs dry, and my total weight on a scale was 6360 with 1/2 tank. You are 600 lbs heavier on dry weight, so I wouldn't be surprised to see closer to 7000 lbs on the scale.

Even if you were 7000 total, that still puts you around 7% tongue weight which is still fine.

Thanks Nauti---I appreciate the offer. Since I don't even have the boat out of storage and wont' for 2 more weeks, having a scale at this time to look at would only remind me of the void.

If you can sell it now, you should. If it's around in a few weeks, I may reach out to you.
