It was right behind us at TRL I thought it looked just like the R7. Is what it is.

Still nothing on performance. Where is boattest captain Steve at?
Anyone notice the fender clips are on top of the gunwale now? Good move.

I did notice that. I was wondering how much dirt will get into the receptacle with it facing upright? Also, The rope now hangs down onto the fiberglass as opposed to being "held off" by the side mount receptacles on the current R3. So, that is a miss for me. On the positive side, it allows you to hang the fender higher.

Safer for some docks. Remember the guy who’s fender clips hit something when docking and had a large repair?

agreed and I've come close to doing the same. Plus I hate how low the fenders hang currently

It makes them a lot easier to clip in, too, because you can actually see the hole without hanging yourself out over the edge of the boat.

My thoughts on the R6 as a long time R5 owner (2013 R5). I have been looking at getting a new R7, and fortunately the R7 will be available for 2021 order it seems.
On the R6 v R5:
-Why would they go from the best helm design in the business to frankly - something that looks like it was inspired by 1960s NASA mission control monitors?
-how and why the heck would you add 1000lbs in weight? a 6000lb 25' boat doesn't make sense on any planet?
-The wraparound swim platform is derivative and classless. I expect this from Four Winns, not from Cobalt
-The upholstery pattern is looking very Bayliner, I get that big pieces with less stitching is cheaper to do, but inexcusable on a 200K boat!
-The boxy design makes it look nothing at all like a Cobalt, I get that boxy is cheaper to design and cheaper to build, but there is a reason BMW has kept the C pillar kink. 4 lamps and twin kidney grille.
-Its clear this isn't aimed at Cobalt customers, The R-series marketing materials to date almost all show family outings, the R6 video is showing late 20 something single people on some after party..seems this is the step up from you early 20s party days in a Malibu, and now you want something more rounded.
Sorry to be so critical, but this is a huge miss.

To be fair, the A25 had this back in 2011.

A lot of good information and thoughts in this thread. Thanks to all.
As an aside, that Cobalt-produced video above was shockingly amateurish in content and production. Not something you'd expect from a company of Cobalt's size.

Someone posted on the Facebook group that Cobalt no longer advertises the deadrise on their site. So I went and looked and they were right. It’s no longer there

Maybe the 18 degrees was wrong and they are correcting it to 22

Its not on the spec sheet either like it is for other models. Seems pretty odd.
