Life jackets on, kill switch attached. VHF clipped to the jacket, tuned to channel 16. Floating emergency flare kit sitting on the back seat. Bow cover on and windshield closed in case I accidentally stuffed the bow, in hopes that most of the water would slough off instead of come inside. Better to be prepared and not need it, right? 😎

Holy balls! That's a lot of water!
I can't imagine how many gallons it takes to raise the level that much. The lake is 10 miles by 30 miles, so I'm guessing it would take like a 11 gazillion gallons, get or take a few.

Great shots. Glad your being safe. Lake superior is no ocean but it gets your Atention. So I know your feeling. I started to get into some swells and got the not so comfortable feeling. Stay safe so I get a ride in January.

BB, you’ve been as stingy as me with the pics this year, we’ve got to step up our game before the seasons over. Tomorrow, I’ll try to take some pics..

Wind will also do it, its called lake Seich. Our end of Lake Erie can raise and fall a foot or more just by seich.

Yea I'll agree. I've been on the water almost every weekend just not with my family like other years. Lake superior trip in July really killed family boating for July. August green sewer water so no water sports. Just a messed up year. Sorry.
But I've boated in Az, lake Superior, Kentucky, and here at home so it's been a good year in the water. I only put 10 hours on my boat though.

Crystal clear on the Niagara River.. just sayin....
But I hear you, we haven’t been boating as much this year. A lot of wind, lots going on, and on Lake Erie, wind means big water. Tomorrow looks excellent here.

We may have had that the other night with the 70+mph winds but this state has lots of water. We have 4 vehicles in the shop right now that need engines from idiots driving through water. In Madison the Chevy dealer has 21. Lakes are closed down there. Not sure what's open here yet. But the sewer did not get flushed from it yet.

What kind of weak excuse is that.
Watch the winds and go to the up wind side. I've been out pulling tubes and burning gas all summer long. Last week a lone I probably did more than 10 hours.

Oh, and take some frickin pictures. :D

Meanwhile, on the smaller bodies of water...
Cleaning the yellow stripe before the relatives arrive. And yes, I know the fender line needs to be shortened.
