Sweet, now I know why you were looking for the TB gasket. The Mercruiser kit has it included already. But buying separately saves a lot of $$

I am totally jealous of the cleanliness of your engine. Someone was all over my engine compartment that shouldn't have been in there.
When you have time, if you could please get a pic of those bilge vent hoses I'd appreciate that. Mine only has 2 holes on that left side leading out. Really curious how you have 3 hoses over there. (I need to order new vent hoses is why I'm so interested)

Pics lie, the bilge is clean because it was just detailed, but the engine itself is filthy, though I’m taking care of that before it goes back together.
I didn’t get a chance to work on it this weekend unfortunately, but I’ll snap pics of the bilge vents when I get back in there hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday.

Did you get the injectors shipped out?

Wasn’t planning on pulling the injectors. All my parts are here, just need the weather to break so I can go replace the impeller housing and put the TB back on.

Gotcha. Thought you were going to do the injectors after I mentioned it and that's why you had the TB off. Sorry.
I just did my impeller last week end. Pretty sure it was the original as the plastic housing still had black paint on it.
Did run into a problem though. The supply hose from the transom to the impeller housing is a hard walled rubber hose. Mine was so stiff, the worm gear hose clamp wouldn't crimp it tight to the housing. The clamp was as tight as i could torque it, but could still spin the hose by hand. Major problem.
My solution was to take the heat gun to the hose to soften it up and then install the clamp. That seemed to have worked, but I'm still very nervous as the clamp is just about to slip. And if I have a failure at that critical point, the whole engine may be ruined.
Please let me know how you make out. Thanks

I actually pulled my sea pump today to do the impeller. Hoses were nice and pliable, sounds like you need a new one. I pull both hoses every fall to winterize so I knew they would come off, and will go back on easy.

Decided to replace the impeller while it’s torn down, so I tore it down some more.

So, all that left is to swap out the impeller and housing and put it back together. Oh, and lots of cleaning along the way. I’m really hoping that the start and idle issue is gone so I can accurately set base timing and see if I get any rpms for my effort!

Remind me to never buy a boat with that engine set up. Seems like merc was just trying stuff to see if they could get it to work. I'm sure for a year or 2 they were fine but what a mess.
