I looked him up when you showed me that in another thread, very cool stuff. It's hard to justify the spend when I have a 48" vinyl cutter, design software, and 50 color rolls of vinyl in my shop, lol. I may do the reg numbers in vinyl, and the boat name with the domed letters on backlit acrylic spacers. Been wanting to do that for a long time, never had the right boat for it.

I also have a set of these hanging around that might find a home on the boat.

There is a guy on Ebay called 3dlettering that does a great job. It's where I bought my registration numbers to match my Cobalt letters on the back. It turned out pretty cool.
I also ordered my boat name on the transom from him in the same Cobalt font, but they're domed rubber/plastic with a chrome background. Check him out!

Good looking letters! It’s going to be painful to cover that “red” registration sticker though. I say leave it on and put your new one next to it.

Haa! In our State the sticker changes color every year so the patrol can see if you're compliant from a long way off.
Btw, I loce red! And Blue. Not a fan of all white though, even though it is my politically incorrect namesake..

Are you in the market for that 272 or are you the seller?

The Merc blue engine series are beasts, but do require a little more upkeep. This was mentioned on the first page.

Normally my only complaint with the racing blue engine series is the inability to switch the exhaust from thru transom (or in this case side exhaust) to thru-prop underwater mode to lower the noise level at times. This one may have the rare silent choice/captain's call switchable option though. Difficult to tell from the pics but I believe it may be there based on the butterfly valve switching past those mean looking headers as well as the "Y" pipes. Something to inquire about anyway so the wifee & law enforcement is happy when you need to lower the decibels.

If this were a 2000-2007 260 series, I'd trade mine in and buy her in a heartbeat....especially with the duoprop B3XR drive mated to her. Another unicorn option as 99% of the time you see the single screw prop XR drives mated to the racing engines for higher top end speed sacrificing hole shot.

I understand this is a rare boat. But if you pull the NADA value of it. Even with the 525 motor. He is asking almost 12k over NADA value. And that is actually down 5k from what he was previously asking. And from people on here that have talked to him. The seller and owner seem a little snobby.

Well, loud decibels will be a problem. I assumed it had the silent choice exhaust. I'll find out about that. Trailer is another problem too. I won't give them asking price but i'd give them a cash offer they might consider.

Probably best mm based upon Whitelightning's experience dealing with this seller (or the representative for the seller being that it's a consignment).

Don't rule out finding a 454/502/8.2GXi boat and adding a blower. You would have more power than the 525, and likely at a lower all-in price point.
