Lift brands and cost?

Thanks for the great info everyone! I can stomach $6500 for a new lift. Much more than that and it gets out of my budget. Hopefully I can find a used one, I like the $2500-3000 price even better. It's gotta be close to AZ though, I'd imagine shipping from halfway across the country would quickly eat up a lot of the savings.

Yt....do you have the option to pull nose in if you want? I'd love to back in for the reasons you listed, but wondering if a big storm or something came up quick if nose in would work temporarily. I'm assuming if you don't actually lift the boat it doesn't matter if you go in forward or backwards?

Matt, I'll be sure to get pics. There's a long wait list but I'm hoping it goes quick like the lady said it would. A lot of the docks were damaged in a storm last year, so they have displaced people waiting for the covered slips to be repaired, then new people in line in front of me. But the lady I talked to seemed to think a lot of them will have gotten tired of waiting and moved on by the time they get to the front of the line. The dock repair is supposed to be done in May, then they will start working through the wait list.

Out of curiosity, what are you guys paying monthly or annually for covered slips? I think I remember a lot of them were cheap compared to here....supply and demand and all that. I'm looking at $460/month for a 30' covered slip, another $30/month for power and $35/month for trailer storage, so about $525/month all in.

I can pull in if need be and not lift the boat.

Around here in the Minneapolis area on most of the lakes/rivers slips rent for about $150-$200 per foot each year. Lake Minnetonka on the west side of the Twin Cities is more like $300+ per foot but since most of the homes on the lake are over $2 million, that is expected. We own a 36-foot slip on the St. Croix River on the MN/WI border and our renter pays $7,020 each summer and there is a waiting list to get into the marina. It's not covered but does include electricity, WiFi, and the use of showers and the clubhouse. Repair is on site as well. Winter storage is extra. It's a very clean waterway being one of the 7 original National and Scenic Rivers designated back in the 1960s. It flows into the Mississipi about 25 miles south of the town pictured. I grew up on the river and spent 5+ days a week on it from age 6 until my lifeguarding days were over and I had to get a real job at age 23.

Holy cow. $7K for a slip for the summer? I see why I am a day boater and trailer my boat. Trailer tires are pretty cheap with all things considered.

Man oh man Didn't realize here on Table Rock how much slip rentals have gone up. The marina owners are killing it.
Glad I bought my slips for $25K a few years back. Around our area of the lake slips just don't come for sale now I'm reading

We pay right at 3K/yr for a 10x20 covered slip, including water and electric, in a fully-managed marina pretty much in the middle of Lake Travis - meaning halfway between the dam and the largest park on the lake, Pace Bend (there's actually lots more lake to explore beyond MM 30). When the flooding occurred last October, we received almost daily status updates as the awesome marina staff made sure that we were safe and sound, while we watched news reports of people sustaining damage all around us. The staff actually camped at our marina in shifts to ensure that things were taken care of during the worst of it. There's usually a waiting list at the surrounding marinas but, if there wasn't, we still couldn't imagine moving - even for a better price.

From a marina standpoint average slips are around $2400/yr with shore power, and an additional 1k will get you a shore station, or you can put your own lift in. I don't think I've seen any covered marina slips on the Chain. You can get smaller slips at some bars for under 1k/yr with just a dock.

I pay the same as TG. Eventually down the road once we get out our condo and buy a proper lake house I will be looking to purchase a slip outright. Yeah the Harbor's prices are higher than most on TRL but they're service is second to none and they do a good job of keeping out the spiders and other critters. Plus I think even if you own a slip on TRL there are yearly dues so when you start adding all that up the price difference becomes much less. And there are no exit costs. For now that is a big plus since we have no idea where we'll end up on the lake once we go house shopping.

I purchased a brand new HH 6600 LBS lift from the Harbor for $7,300 installed. And it came with a Yeti soft side cooler

Full service marina near me is $39 a foot for the season. City owned dock with no service is $410 a season.
