For the first time though, she is thinking of downsizing from a Yukon to a mid size sportier SUV. We’ll see how that goes..

I’d like to find a 450 somewhere to drive. If it rides somewhat decent for what it is, I may not have enough sense to resist that bad azz look.
I also only daily drive full size diesel trucks. My wife went from a Expedition to a Explorer back to a 2018 Expedition, she likes the new model and is glad she went back to the full size. We just might pull the R5 with it this weekend.

No 6.2. I want it. But she doesn't want all of the toys. I'll see if the vvt eco 3 engine does better than what I have now. If not oh well I'll live for a bit..

That’s a great looking SUV BB. You are going to love it. I haven’t driven the new 5.3L yet, but people say it’s a lot more powerful than the old style and compares to the last gen 6.2.
8 speed?
Looks like it has the bumper sensors on her, which IMO, are the greatest invention since mozzarella cheese!

I was getting all things wrapped up yesterday and made sure Mrs BBP was set on it. She was it was a go. We transferred money from our account to pay down our truck. Called To tell him we will pick it up tonight he goes I sold it last night. I'm like really. You had all of our info bank ok and talked to you yesterday. Not happy but like I said to the wife we didn't put money down. It sat on his lot for 45 days till we both wanted it at the same time I guess. Oh well off to anther journey.

Been there, it sucks. I looked at another 252 before the one I bought, and agreed on a price, setup a sea trial date and planned to take it home same day if it passed. Show up the day of the sea trial and am told it was sold...Mrs. akor and I were heart broken because we fell in love with the boat, but it all worked out because we got a better example of the same boat (minus the 502 the other one had). It wasn't meant to be BB, the right one will pop up when you least expect it.

Well, it wasn’t the right truck after all so it wasn’t meant to be. Your next vehicle is still out there.

I have a 2016 Yukon XL, I've had it since new and we love it. I drove to Michigan to get it, NY dealers all had them marked up. I too wanted the 6.2 but after reading about the HID dash issues the Denali's had, I decided to go with an SLT. Two tv screens for the kids makes road trips a breeze. I also get about 12-14 MPG when towing which seems fine. The transmission and overall feel is much better than the same year Silverado I had. That was junk. But...I secretly always wanted a wagon. There is a bone stock 66 Chevy Biscayne Wagon with a 427 around here that is in a storage warehouse. I call the guy once a year to see if he is ready to sell. I'm hoping to wear him down so I can have my sleeper "loser cruiser".

I just drove a 2019 Suburban with the 5.3 for about 300 miles last week. Nice enough vehicle, but the 5.3 was pretty light--ok, compared to my Sequoia, it wouldn't even get out of it's own way. I don't think towing with it would be a great experience based on power alone. I didn't care much for the shutting down of cylinders. I was curious and watched the dash indicator. I couldn't really tell when it shut down, but there was a definite feel as to when they kicked in---kind of like a very mild autostart at roadspeed. I still don't understand how the process works when the cylinders are shut down (lubrication, fuel flow, etc) .The vehicle did get 20.4mph on the road, which I found impressive (hand calculated).

You may have had a favor done for you BBP given your propensity to engines and their inevitable abuse.....er singing.

I noticed when I test drove them that the ones without the tow package (3.08 axle ratio) were sleepy versus the Heavy Duty trailering option which bumped the ratio to 3.42. It's no rocket ship but it hauls the kids with room to spare. I did see a Hennessey upgrade for both the 5.3L and 6.2L.
