That and a Kevlar-reinforced hull added to the load bearing capacity of the floor. The 9 (as of 1997) vs. the 12 (as of 1998) is not a function of displacement or seating capacity. (Seating for even 9 is stretch.) The +3 "seating" is really +450-552 pounds (depending on whether your use the 150#'s/person or the 184#'s/person calculation).
Great info, thanks Rick!
Anything for you, akor.

You can see the kevlar in this chip on the strake.

Will be addressing that tomorrow. As well as cleaning up the wiring in the engine compartment.

Just received the new impeller kit, exhaust manifold gaskets, and the in lb torque wrench.

Will be removing the intake manifold to access the injectors for cleaning. And removing the exhaust manifolds to replace them with my Seaward exhaust.

Will most likely be replacing the cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs some time soon.

Let me ask you guys something.

Hour meter in the engine compartment shows 490+ hours. The engine scan tool showed just under 300 hours on the engine.

What do you make of that?

Early Hobbs were key on no engine running. So that’s either 190 hrs of radio?
Or it’s had a ecm replaced.
Just unplug I’m the meter for a while 👍🏼

Haven't dove that far in yet. It might have that installed.

Just cleaned up my plenum and throttle body tonight. Injectors went out yesterday for professional cleaning.

Need to modify the oil filter bracket and relocate the out drive reservoir in order to run my aftermarket exhaust.

Ohh, what headers are you running? Do you have captain call or are you just going straight through hull?

Yep, Hardin Marine Seaward exhaust.

Keeping the captains call for now.

Would like to go thru hull exhaust only. Keep it simple. Less bellows to possibly leak, more room to work around the engine, less wiring, and less moving parts to fail.

Have thru hull only on the other boat and it wasn't that loud. It has the spiral baffle in the tips which i think cuts down on noise just a tad.
