I also got the 6 old speakers out of the interior of the boat and replaced with new ones. The old ones were dry, cracked, and buzzing, and cheap. Replaced them with Polk DB652's:

Yes. Wireless, and they work SOOOOO much better than my old wired JVC remotes on the last boat.

Agreed. They're a game changer, and I'm very very impressed how well and responsive they are. I'm going to get one more to put in the galley area close to the rear seating somewhere.

I really owe you a few beverages for this tip. I may switch out our new boats head unit for this, or will it work via blue tooth with the existing head unit? Thats pretty handy to have various points to adjust stereo. Ive just left it alone before because I just was too lazy to get up. I was very reluctant to install anymore wired ones just for reasons like this as technology advances what do you do with all the now useless holes in the boat?

Ive had wired remotes on our last 3 boats. Kenwood and JVC. They are convenient but they are always somewhat laggy for some reason even though they're wired. And drilling holes everywhere is necessary along with running wires. With these the battery is said to last for a year, even if I have to replace them every 6 months thats still fine with me. And they are bluetooth so there's no wires. And to my astonishment they're more responsive than the wired remotes I've had. They only work with certain Fusion head units that are capable of synching with these remotes. There's 2 reasons I went with the Fusion head unit, #1- these nifty remotes, and #2 will integrate into my new Garmin UHD that I will be installing via NMEA2000. So my Garmin will be my Fusion remote at the helm.

We usually don't winterize until early November. But even then if the winter is not too harsh I usually just do a drain and use a bilge heater so that we can use it on sporadic warm days. Then we start back up again in late February or early March.

Brand new Dometic potty installed and ready for the kiddos. They've never once used the potty on any of our boats, but its nice peace of mind incase.
