How has the Seablaze X2 worked out for you this summer so far? You have the blue/white version and not the Seablaze X2 Spectrum light, correct?
Did you decide to add a second one, or are you going to stay with the single light? Is there anything you would change?
It has been great. The summer has been so hot this year so we have usually started our outings around 4pm and end up out there till around midnight. So the added underwater light has been used a lot this summer. Makes night swimming a totally different experience. I let it stay on if we are cruising around under 15mph. But anything over that I turn it off to avoid overheating the light assembly (even though Seablaze says it's okay to leave it on).
Yup, we have the blue/white one. I usually just leave it in the default mode where it gradually changes between the two colors. I did purchase a second one to install, but it's not really a necessity, more of a nice to have. I'll install the second one over the winter more than likely. I'll try to get some videos and photos of single versus double to compare.
I wouldnt change anything. Been very happy with the decision to go with the Seablaze x2. The full spectrum light is neat, but I personally prefer the blue/white. Not trying to run a disco
I went with two of the Lumitec SeaBlaze X2 lights as well, but did the RGBW since we have younger kids and I thought they would enjoy it. I have been extremely happy with them. They are plenty bright to where I'm not sure I would want them any brighter. In clear water you can see the bottom to about a 10ft depth. In our local lakes...well, they make the murky water colorful.
I simply wired them to one of the unused aux switches on the helm. If you quickly turn them off and on, they will stay on whatever color they were on, which is a pretty neat feature. Beats needing a separate controller for them.
This is my third season with them, and they look like new. No signs of corrosion or anything. They were $465 when I bought them, but now are around $440.

I hadn't thought about that. Anyone with the drain plug style have a comment? I was leaning toward drain plug style and would like to know.

I decided against the drain plug lights because I actually remove my drain plug after every use. Other than that they seem okay, but I would think that the outdrive would block a lot of light since the drainplug sits right inline with the outdrive.
I have a dual drain plug light the kids bought me for Christmas. I also trailer so we pull the plug everytime, it really isn't an issue with the dual light because you still have a normal drain in the middle.
This is what its looked like docked at TRL last June

Here are some more photos. I dont have just a photo of the plug itself installed without light on. Yes there does seem to be a shadow from the outdrive.
This isn't the highest output light either and with murky water I cannot see the light at night.
In case the link you provided dies someday, here are pictures of the Loki-2 led light you installed. I notice that this is the kind of light where you had to remove the existing bilge plug fitting. How hard was it to remove that bilge plug fitting, especially with the factory sealant?
Your led light is made of aluminum. Any issues with a brass drain plug damaging or stripping the aluminum threads?

It was not hard to remove at all, remove screws(one of which was held in with sealant on my boat), take a thin knife and run around old fitting, and pop out. If I remember right I did put some door shims between my very thin prybar and the hull to prevent any gelcoat cracking. it did still take some force.
Dont use the factory brass plug, it comes with a plastic one that has not failed yet. Being extended an 1.25" I dont think this setup is strong enough to hold up to repeated tightening of a brass plug.
I don’t know how long this will last as the prices for this thing on Amazon goes up and down like a yo-yo. Camelcamelcamel doesn’t reflect this price yet, but $301.81 looks like the lowest price in the last 18 months.
Digging a thread from a few years ago on underwater lighting. Thought it would be better than starting something new.
I wanted to upgrade to the underwater lights on my 2008 220 using the drain plug option. Boatpluglight has a model called the Typhoon with dual leds that would point to either side of the outdrive. In the center is a space for the removable plug.
My question is, has anyone ordered from this company? The info shows 2400 lumens of light but not sure if this is total or per light. Will check with the manufacturer to get this answer.
Update - The 2400 lumens is total for BOTH lights. As per Dustinm's earlier post about a 2400 Loki model, this isnt going to light up a massive amount, but I figure this more about show than go.
