We bought the Platinum system in our 2021 R8 Surf and I couldn't be happier with that option! The clarity and depth of sound is spectacular at all volume levels and it will blow your mind if you like it loud. The Apollo 670 vs 770 isn't that much different outside of the display being larger (I was bothered by this before I actually used the boat). What I came to realize is that I have one of the Garmin's displaying music and I control everything there. Much better UI than any head unit will be able to provide.

I have built/purchased a couple stereos on previous boats with top end JL Audio and they don't compare to the quality of the Roswell IMO

The Cobalt rep told me they are moving away from Roswell to what BMW uses for their top end sound system (Harmon Kardon possibly, but not positive).

Hope this is helpful
I have Platinum system in 2021 R8 Surf as well - although it is equipped with RF PMX 8BB (strange since I thought they were all Apollo). It is a 4-zone which is good, but for some reason I can't get the subwoofers to wake up. Roswell system sounds very good - just need more bass! Any recommendations?

Mjboyer, it may be as simple as adjusting the gain on the amplifiers for the subwoofers. If they're smaller than 10" I'd consider upgrading subwoofers, but otherwise I'd tinker with the configuration a bit first.

As far as Roswell, I listened to JL Audio, Wet Sounds, Roswell, and a few others before deciding on Roswell to upgrade my 210. I went with JL Audio amps, but the Roswell speakers sounded clearly better to me. Glad others are hearing the same thing!

Hey Mjb1. So glad you found us my friend.

When you say the subs won’t wake up , do you mean no sound at all?…or they are just playing weak bass?

Subs are normally powered by their own and independent amplifier. Is it powered? Gain adjusted? Circuit breaker in? Any pics?

And welcome aboard mate.

Thanks - dual 12” subs from the factory. They do work and sound ok at higher volume levels, but no punch. I agree it is likely gain adjustment - going to give that a shot.
