I found a local shop that was able to rechrome the aluminum center piece. For some reason the camera is picking up stuff that is not really visible. It is much shinier in person than the camera is showing.

That's really nice. Very cool. Is that a new center C?

Thanks!

This’s is the original center C, which still has half of the underlying chrome that stuck to the adhesive backing.

That did turn out great. Did you have them chrome other things for you while they were at it? I'm betting it wouldn't be economically feasible to have just this little piece done. Maybe had to wait until they got more items from other people. Either way, it looks brand new for sure.

Awesome job and exactly what I'm hoping to have done to mine. Silly question but I can't get the center C off the chrome - I'm sure I'm going to break it or tear a chip out of it. So...
1) Does anyone know how to loosen that without hurting it? I think even a strong solvent might damage the plastic C...?
2) Does anyone know where I might buy a new center C?
Thanks guys.

Ok, I must confess to a little fib. I diid not have that piece chromed. It is the original ugly aluminum just polished up really well.

My center C was on there pretty good such that it took a bunch of the underlying chrome plating off with it. I got a little lucky in that mine was just installed just the tiniest bit off center. That gave me just a smidgen of access so that I was able to get under it with some plastic car trim removal tools.

I would try heating it up very carefully by soaking it in hot water to see if that will loosen the adhesive and then prying it off with a small suction cup. Graduate to boiling water. If all that fails I would try using a hair dryer very very judiciously.

I think Big Block Power said the black center C was available from the dealer?
