My in-laws live on East Lake near Cold Spring and that whole process looks like a recurrent headache. Hopefully your lake doesn't have the vegetation issues theirs does! I can't imagine having to unclog the intake constantly.
The dock install companies make the process look easy with their specialized barges with forklifts on the bow. It took them only about 70 minutes to install my three lifts and 33 dock sections. Usually we have our dock in by May 1st(when it’s often too cold to boat) but this year with record snowfall the ice out was super late. The trade off of having to take my dock in and out each year is worth it as I don’t have the hassles of dealing with trailering each time I use my boat. MN has so many lakes that almost every boater I know has their boat in a slip either at a marina or in front of their house and because it’s convenient, many of my neighbors/buddies put 150+ hours on their boat each season and I average about 300 hours during the MN boating season.
The boat storage guys are also working 7 days a week this time a year to get everyone’s boat detailed and in the water. We put the SeaDoos in yesterday and I’ll get the boats in this morning.
