Btw contacted the seller and they have experience arranging shipping. She estimated about $1000. I can live with that. Hmm....

I personally think you will be ok. Yes 8.2 or 8.1 would be better but that 6.0 has good torque. That wouldn't stop me from buying it.
With no trailer I think you will be closer to $2k for shipping. If it's lower that's a bonus.

The 6.0l will outperform the 8.2.
There is a video out there somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. It shows two identically weighted Formula boats running the 8.2L vs. the 6.0l. The 6.0 out accelerated/out planed the Merc with every different passenger weight combo. Loaded down or light. The Merc equipped boat visibly sat lower in the water due to the extra 320lbs.

Thanks I would take it over allot of engines. I still believe in big block torque but hey I haven't heard anything bad about that power plant. Yes if I had the choice two of the same boats with the 6.0 380 and a 8.2 you know my decision

Yes that article has been out for sometime. Good article. Find out what drive is in that boat. Volvo had some issues with I think the plastic drive. I forgot what it's called. I would look it up but headed to work. I can't remember what year they used it. I think you might have a good deal there. Make sure the vinyl isn't all hard from the Florida sun.

Hopefully a plan will come together this summer. You’ll have a chance to convert B.B.

I figured BBs response would be "Thems fighten words". And then I remembered BB loves everyone.
Except his pew pew keyboard.

Haha, well if he does convert some day, what will we call him, "small block"?

Major consideration there....
Nah, he'll always be our BB! Pot the Jus!
Honestly, I would have been happy with either engine. The downside to the small block is the high RPM it runs. Sounds really wound up when wound up. I mean REALLY wound up.. I'd love to hear what it sounds like with a CC. Sounds pretty loud as is..
Upside? In two words?
Technology. Is that a good thing? Yes and no. I hate locked ECUs.
Weight. That is a good thing.
But, will it stand the test of time? I believe it will because the automotive version will run tenfold times the hours of a marine engine... but it is impossible to compare to the legendary big block track record of being rock solid...and that bad ass sound!

I’m rambling on and on today. Just bored as hell and it’s 10 degrees outside..
TR, I think she looks pretty good, but I would request multiple pics of the outdrive. That will help tell the story. I don’t see any...

Requested last night. It may take her a couple days to get to the marina to get new pics but she is going to do that along with some video. Also asked for more close up pics of the engine compartment. So we shall see. Hopefully they look good.
Just got off the phone with hydrohoist, they told me if I max the weight limit out on my 6600lbs. lift the boat will only be a few inches out of the water and the drive will be mostly submerged

So....this will require a new lift or add a extra tank which they do not at all recommend and voids the warranty. So...if i go down this road I will have to deal with buying a new lift. I just bought this one last year!
