Maybe it's just the color...it would look way better in a little more traiditonal color maybe a gray? OK maybe not.

I’m just an American truck buyer.
Not because I’m pro-union, pro country, or pro anything other than wondering who in the hell in Tokyo are they letting design the looks of their trucks?
And what deciding group of people together say “we love it, let’s build it?
It’s more like Mr. Nissan calls down to the design room and says “boys, butcher one”..

As I am aware the 80's Honda civics took on a big import role that attracted America. At least they stay with there mid truck " the Ridgeline".
I'm a GM guy and they all have there place but they really don't stack against Detroits big 3..

It's still called the Big 3 isn't it? Just sayin

The success of the Tundra several years really blew me away. An ex-GF had a 2007 crew cab Tundra with the little 4.7, and that thing impressed the hell out of me towing. It was much better than my 2001 Silverado with the 5.3.

I figured the big 3 had the truck market all locked up. As for buying American...well...my last two crew cab Silverados were assembled in Mexico while the Tundra and Titan are built in Texas and Mississippi respectively.

Either way, competition in the market is good for the consumer :)

Well, nothing is pure American, or pure import. They are all mutts.
So for me, it boils down to styling.
But hey, I like the new Super dutys, and unless you are a Ford guy, most think they are hideous..

5.0 Cummins with the Aisin 6 speed transmission. I'm looking at trading my current vehicle and wondering if this truck is the one. Price and options look decent with the Platinum Reserve model. Looks like their offering 7 years and 100,000 miles on the CPOs.

Looking for some input.
Here is the Long Term Road test by Edmund's (followed by comments) equipped with the 5.0 Cummins, Driller.....

.
https://www.edmunds.com/nissan/titan-xd ... ap-up.html

.
Their summary:

Bottom Line,
Nissan took a big gamble with the introduction of the Titan XD, and we think it will pay off for certain truck buyers. It's a very capable truck that is comfortable enough to drive every day, and it's at a far lower price point compared to most heavy-duty trucks. Like most all-new vehicles, however, it has a few bugs to work out before it can boast bulletproof reliability, and its interior doesn't match the competition for refinement and features.

.
Hope this helps a little. Happy hunting. :)

.
No exactly a glowing report, but not too bad.

Last night I got on AutoTrader looking for used Dodge 3/4 tons diesels.

10 years old, 125,000 miles asking 44K (not one but about 4 trucks at that price). For 10k more I'll take the new Nissan.

Haven't made up my mind, still thinking. This will likely go on for some time.

Chevy has the best dash, but the Duramax Diesel has gotten a bad rap in Texas.

You can do better than 10 years old and 125k for $44,000. I think carmax is generally 2-4k overpriced, but its a great place to shop for cars and get an idea of what the market price really is. Here is a fully loaded F250 platinum /w the PowerStroke - 2016 model year 7k miles $57,000 Still big money but damn thats a good looking truck.

https://www.carmax.com/car/15626348

This being a platinum its going to be loaded with a bunch of stuff you may never use, look for a used Lariat or XLT and you can get close to 45k depending on the year and mileage. Maybe something like this:
