Dane if I drink beer at all its low carb. But as far as most whiskeys, its carb free. You have to look it up, and be careful about the sugars in anything. Google whatever your drinking. Wine is full of carbs and sugars, so it's best to look up your beverage of choice and adjust accordingly.

Simple rules...
NO sugar. Watch for sugar because it's in EVerything, usually in the form of corn syrup.
Only 20 to 25 carbs a day. Read labels. And be STRICT!
No bread or breading, pastas, gravies, sauces, complex carbs of any kind.
Don't eat any vegetable that grows underground. (I make a very small exception to onions in a few things, just for flavor)
Lots of fat. They say 80% of your intake, but again, I dont count or measure anything.

Guys this is really simple. Your biggest problem will be getting put of your own way. I'm pretty strict, but I see others that mess up occasionally. If you do, dont beat yourself up! If you fall off the wagon just get back on! After a week or two you'll see results. Its easier once that happens. When you hit a plateau, change something slightly and you'll push through it.

Once you're into ketosis, and your body has completely converted over, your appetite goes down. Fat satisfies you more, so its easier. And once sweets are gone, and you keep it that way for awhile, deserts will lose flavor. It's like spooning a pile of sugar in your mouth, and it tastes nasty.

For breakfast do a big pile of bacon and eggs. Sometimes I'll fry bacon crispy, then while its cooking add a spoonful of chopped onion, chopped poblanos or spinach leafs or whatever, then scramble in eggs with chopped bacon. Once it's on the plate cover it with cheese. Yumm! High fat and very filling.

For simple breakfast do an avocado or two. (High in fat). Drink a cup or two of bulletproof coffee. Its coffe with butter, coconut or MTC oil and a dollop of heavy whipping cream. Very filling and holds me over to 1, sometimes 2 before I eat lunch. Sometimes when traveling, I may not eat again for the day unless its something really light in the evening, just because I'm no longer hungry all the time.

Go for it Tusc! Being Italian, pasta is going to be your Achilles heel, but were all here to help you be accountable.
Call me if you need to! And that goes for anyone!

You start now and you'll be in bikini shape in no time!

Really though, I hate beer and general alcohol.
My issues are constantly being in a food store, and loving all of the sweet stuff, which I can see is the root of my constant hunger. I am like Mrs. YT, I have literally zero willpower when garbage food is in the house, but we’ve done a good job on not having junk food in the house...it’s at the deli..🙈

If I could lose 60 lbs, I would feel like I hit the Powerball.. knees are killing me, and I generally feel like crap. Even at the height of my strength a couple years ago, I never really felt great.
I’m going to talk to AJ later and give this a shot. If I can control hunger by eliminating sugar and simple carbs, I have to think this will be much easier to follow. I had a good day yesterday by eliminating cereal, and the hunger wasn’t there, we’ll see about today.
Download the app "my fitness pal". Start inputing your food every day. It will total up calories and carbs along with a whole lot of other stuff. What I found was that my carb intake was out of control. I used to average a few hundred carbs a day. Now on the keto diet I run +/- 25-50, with some days being in the single digits. Not hungry, still eat plenty. I just slay off the bread, sugar, and fruit. A lot of the vegetables will surprise you how many carbs they contain. Bananas for one - 36 carbs each. That's a lot for something I grew up thinking was healthy.

Big MFP fan here driller.
But I only use it for calorie counting.
Works great for my body type.
Simple calories in vs calories out.
I eat whatever I want and still lose weight ...as long as I’m under my calorie count. ((...and I take it right to the limit each day because I LOVE food).

Go with what works for your lifestyle and body type.
I’m also a big fan of just getting that heart rate elevated with some type of activity for 30 minutes a day.

Enjoy folks.

Haha, how does any man put on a speedo, look in the mirror at his smashed in junk, then turn around to check out his azzcrack... and walk out without asking themselves what’s wrong with this picture?🙈🤣

How many children have to be scared for life?🤣🤣

Scary part isn't not asking themselves what's wrong with this picture. The real scary part is they look in the mirror and think it looks good.😂😂

My Wife and I both use MFP and it's a great way to keep yourself in line with food. I just posted this to try and bump that pic to another page.

liquid wrote: Mon Jan 28, 2019 12:03 pm Nice job NOLA. So agree with everyone posting about resolutions being fleeting. My wife decide 5 months ago to start working out. 5 months later and she'd in terrifyingly good shape for a mother of 3. I had another high school buddy drop dead over the holidays... barely 40. Lost another last year at 39.

The late comedian Patrice O'neal said anything you're not doing by 40 you'll never do. Well I joined the gym last week. It was rough. I'm going again tomorrow. And Thursday. No NYE's resolution, but a resolution to be better for myself and kids and also so my wife doesn't leave me.
I love this community. Boating forum sharing Keto recipes and generally encouraging one another? What kind of weird supportive internet culture we've created here. Honestly don't think I've seen anything like it. Thanks again John.

While my story may be different in that I wasn't carrying a ton of weight I was pretty out of shape and wanted to update as well. January of this year I was up to 185... which is a lot for me. Besides that i was low energy, tired all the time and you know I enjoy my Heineken. I generally trim down come end of summer after chasing kids all season but get doughie all winter.

Now almost nine months ago Mrs. Liquid joined orange theory fitness. She'd never worked out since I've known her. She now goes at least 5 times a week and looks absolutely incredible. I committed to going 2x a week and January and have stuck to it. These workouts kick your ass. Muscle confusion with crossfit, rowers treads weights. it's brutal. So worth it.

I don't weigh myself ever but happened across a scale the other day. 160. :o . I haven't been 160 since high school. I have abs. ABS! My back, shoulder and knees are stronger (accident years ago really messed me up).

So I don't know if you guys have an Orange Theory near you but I will highly recommend it. If you're like me and have no idea how to do anything at the gym without a trainer, this is an effective way to train. They tell you what to do, how and when to switch. You go at your own pace. You will literally drip sweat. Here's a report of my last workout so you can see what kind of ass-kicking i take.
