She still drives an E46 chassis BMW too, but with more hp and less rust than mine.

My e46 M3 ZCP has 27k miles...so probably less miles too.

I let my e46 325iT take the salt beating..but, the rust is now visible on the outside of the car...one factor in focusing on a cheaper boat, I want to spread the funds around to upgrade the touring to a 2016 Golf R (almost as many horses an e46 M3, but was haldex AWD and much lighter...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

Katie has finally gotten me to take a look at this thread. My E46 is a ZHP 6 speed Coupe - 122k miles on the odo. I love the car, its the perfect daily driver...but all good things must come to an end.

It's time to do a clutch...the clutch itself is that expensive, but the dual mass flywheel is a bit pricey. Combine that with an oil leak that I haven't tracked down, the VANOS needing some attention, and it being on the original 2006 suspension and I decided it was time to let her go.

Found a guy in Houston that works for SpaceX that wants it for a daily driver / project car. Guy knows what he is doing and is going to take care of her so I will only cry a bit as it drives off. I will miss the E46 thats for sure.

The M235 that I am working a deal on should help dry the tears as well. Don't want to jinx it but looking like I should be able to make it happen this week assuming it passes a pre-purchase inspection. Katie got her toy first when we bought the 222, but the M235 didnt come long after

Too funny. True story. My firm has an annual promotion day, where the entire US firm shuts down to celebrate our promotions. And given there are 5 or 6 promotions, in total, during a lifetime at the firm, a promotion is a big deal. First month with the firm, both my direct boss and HIS boss were promoted. I spent my 3rd Friday with the firm at a massive party with 4k people (in Boston alone) drinking for like 12 hours straight. I couldn't tell if my firm was a bunch of alcoholics or folks that like to work hard and party hard (luckily, it turned out to be the latter).

Moral of the story, Mark, guess you just have to find the right IT peeps to hang with

It is a hard-earned lesson that the closer you are to the money, the better life is.
