Interesting stuff. Glad this was resurrected. Reminds me that I know nothing about patent law.

Patent law may be boring and obtuse, but it bought me my boat :)

Nice. I like that. I’m a general contractor. We have a lot of lawyers around the country but no patent lawyers. It’s all about contracts and insurance.

Yesterday I was looking on YouTube at boat repair videos.
I found a video about the Sea Ray Sundeck 24. When they mentioned their fold down swim step, I could see the Cobalt Patent Number, 800 something, that I notice everytime I use step.
Other thing I noticed. I've read so much here and learned a lot of things. People have talked about Sea Ray's being underpowered. This Sundeck 24 came with a 250 hp engine.

On another note, I purchased a used Smith & Weston Sigma pistol several years ago. It reminded me of a Glock 17. I later found out that Glock sued and won. I bought a Glock 17, and it was exactly the same design, except better built and more accurate. Now I hit what I'm aiming at, which is what we say in the south is "gun control."

A7 sent me back to review this thread.

I could not see the photos of the Sea Ray swim step very clearly, but it their design improved this:

they probably won.
Got my replacement under warranty. Haven't installed it yet.
