Vessel Lean
Re: Vessel Lean
Good read.. My previous Donzi 22 with a pad bottom didn't like 4 blade props when it wasn't trimmed to the moon.. it would roll over on its starboard side (over the chine) if the prop had too much stern lift.Bfun220 wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2017 8:17 pm Running the trimm all the way down I think it's bow steering.
This was more than lean or list as it would just suddenly happen with no reason at all ...cruising along steady.. calm water
I put back the 3 blade smaller diameter prop and problem solved.
Check your prop to make sure it wasn't changed by the previous owner. (aftermarket prop designed for stern lift can cause this) The pitch may be true for the application but your amount of lift may incorrect for the boat and its rolling over as it rises when trimmed down.

That could be dangerous. They will tell you to sell the I/O bowrider and buy a 40 foot CC with an outboard because nothing else is seaworthy hahaAsLan7 wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2017 7:09 pm This has me perplexed, Driller.
I'm going to throw your question to my dad who is a member of "TheHullTruth" site.

Maybe those forum members can shed some light on this one.
