Hello all,
I am about to purchase a 2017 R5 WSS Surf with tower that folds. I too am looking to see what the height will be. I am headed tomorrow to measure my doors at my office warehouse, I believe they are 10 or 11 feet. The boat sits on a Cobalt trailer. Before I take ownership I was wondering if I need to find outside storage or if it will fit in my warehouse. looking for a rough measurement when the tower folds and is the tower adjustable if I need a few inches?
Thanks in advance and thanks for all the info

By experience I know you can adjust your tower but I don't recommend it. It's not pretty. My garage tried to adjust mine.
I would think 10ft would not be a issue at all.

My r3 is right at 10ft on the trailer. Give or take a few inches. I was kicked out of my storage place because I needed a high door and they told me they made more on rVs than boats. They sucked

Thanks for the reply. I hope it fits. Is the arch bars removable if I need room? I really want to keep it in my temp enclose warehouse and not outside all the time.

If your tower folds to the height of the windshield you will be fine with a 10’ door. My R5 didn’t fit into my 10’ door because it was about 10’4” on my old EZLoader trailer. I did the natural thing and dug the gravel out below the doorway in the summers so I could put our R5 to sleep inside the shed. Now I have a new larger & taller trailer so it’s closer to 11’ I think with the bimini up. I also added the EZ fold system to the bimini and it clears the door with over a foot to spare now as long as the bimini is in the lowered position.

Hey T904. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
It sounds like folding these towers can be quite cumbersome based upon other user’s experience on the forum. It’s almost as if Cobalt made these to fold for occasional hibernation storage verses a couple times a week “in and out” storage. I bet it would grow old dropping and lifting that thing for every outing. Just my two cents.
In any event, any pics of this future purchase? How is she powered?
Again welcome aboard mate!
