Hey mark. That’s great! Can’t wait to see more pics in your intro thread too.

Be careful with that trailer lift too. It can ground out if not fully raised.

We just picked up a used GL550 in Texas which is being delivered to us next week. Great to hear about your towing experience with the Merc! Hopefully ours will be similar.

cmattj, yes, I am going to have the trailer adjusted a bit next week before the new trailer is ready - shouldn't be too hard to have it moved forward some. We want to do some boating before the summer is gone. 8.1L Volvo, btw, so 380 HP.

AsLan7, that trailer lift is all the way up. Lame. You will LOVE your GL550. It's a crazy good tow vehicle. Much better than the 2007 Escalade ESV I had for a couple of years, but maybe not quite as good as the GMC 2500HD Duramax I had before that (but a hell of a lot easier to live with on a daily basis here). I've had some fun and interesting cars and my GL350 is one of my very favorites. I am going to run it into the ground (just crossed 100K miles on this trip).

Well that’s great to hear. I was a little apprehensive especially because of reliability. I did purchase a USAA 100k/4 year, no deductible, bumper to bumper warranty just in case. It’s a 2015 model lightly used.

Wifee will sure enjoy it on a day to day basis. Just the right size as papa bear would say. :D

Thx for the info brother mark.

Those are sharp!! Did you look at the SRT or just wanted the R/T? If I didn't get a boat I'd be driving a Charger Hellcat right now. Love those things.
I wanted the SRT, but we tow the Durango behind our MotorHome and the SRT is not compatible so I was stuck with the R/T, but it gets the job done and saved some $$$

I agree! I wasn't making fun of the R/T, that 5.7L is a beast also. I bought an R/T when the chargers first came out. Here was my baby back then.

The wife got a charger R/T shorty after I picked up the Durango. She loves it and gets at me all the time as her exhaust sounds mean. I know I can change mine, but I’d rather spend the coin elsewhere 😁

Had our new to us Lunar blue metallic GL550 delivered yesterday from Texas. Slowly phasing out our Aspen Hybrid SUV as it approaches 200,000 Miles. Amazing vehicle but it’s time to move on.

Last Pics are with boat hooked up in front of Enormis Audio who just completed phase one of Stereo install. 👌🏼 Very happy with result. :D (Pics will follow in Stereo thread).
