I'm ok with the big black cowling. At least you knew what it was.
I think they look just fine on this one. I mean 90mph "cruising" speed and do not have to tear down the motors every 350hrs. There is a reason you are seeing outboards taking over.

I totally get that outboard technology has made it a better logical choice in many applications, it just doesn’t move me.

What you said! I just don’t appreciate the looks. I realize there are particular applications but I feel it the ruins the Cobalt specific look. Maybe I need to ride on one to see.akorcovelos wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:16 pm I totally get that outboard technology has made it a better logical choice in many applications, it just doesn’t move me.

Agreed. Kind of a big bummer if you enjoy lake sports, too - the engines are in the way of EVERYTHING.Snowman73 wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2019 6:23 amWhat you said! I just don’t appreciate the looks. Re: Anyone waiting for one of the 4, 6 or 8's?
What are the chances of seeing the new R series boat in Miami?? The new A29 seems to be dominating all the marketing and boat shows right now.
Re: Anyone waiting for one of the 4, 6 or 8's?
It would not surprise me at all if the R6 prototype showed up in Miami kinda like the A29 prototype last year. I know they showed the new r series prototypes off last fall at the dealer summit. The dealer I bought mine from had posted some shots on facebook but then removed them the next day. I'm guessing they got told by Cobalt to take them down.Rickybobby12 wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 12:58 pm What are the chances of seeing the new R series boat in Miami?? I was told by Cobalt we'll see the R6 in "spring" 2020, but that information was given to me in April of last year so who knows if they are still on the timeline?tgrace98 wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 1:04 pmIt would not surprise me at all if the R6 prototype showed up in Miami kinda like the A29 prototype last year. Re: Anyone waiting for one of the 4, 6 or 8's?
My guess is later 2020 or maybe 2021. The boat was shown to dealers at the factory. I heard there was a fair amount of dealer feedback. The same type of feedback that delayed the A29 after
Miami—-the dealers told them what wasn’t right and they delayed the launch to fix it. Could be the same thing with the new R. I did hear it pops up on plane much quicker and handles chop better. Something about the balance of the boat
