Hahaa! Everyone always discounts Prius as a limpwristed treehugger car. I probably drive more in a month than a lot of you drive in 6 months, so the gas savings alone is worth the baggage that comes along with it!

However, I missed a flight from OKC to Dallas one morning. I had a meeting I had to be at at 9 AM on the south side of Dallas. I left south OKC at 6:45 after filling up and walked into my meeting at 9:05. The average speed on the dash showed 116. Getchusomeofthat haters!

All of my vehicles came from an auction. I've bought new a few times, but the immediate depreciation on ANYthing just doesn't make sense! I'm pretty hard on everything as far as driving, but I keep the maintenance up. On both Prius's (how the hell do you say Prius plural?) I have over 200,000 miles and still drive the crap out of them. Gas, oil and tires, and that's it. Nada. ANd I'd drive either one out to California to see Matt.

And fit right in!

The funny thing is as much as they get picked on, ive never known any owners to not love them. They all rave. I can’t see myself In one but who knows.

They aren't Car People. And if you're not a Car Person, it makes a great mobility appliance. You should maybe stay out of the fast lane, though.

I did a bunch of laps of Thunderhill Raceway in a Prius a couple of years back with $90K of Velodyne LiDAR units on the roof. The goddamned car would not turn to save its life and my head was full of visions of scraping megabuck lidar units off the pavement afterwards.

Well, electric is the future. Heck, driverless is not far off. How many young kids will never have the opportunity to experience the love of driving a vehicle.

...and yes, we taught all three of our kids to drive a stick. Now they will be able to rent and drive a car in Europe.

( next on the list is the window crank. It was a mystery to my niece when I asked her to roll down the window on an old F150. She just gave me the deer in the headlights look )

My oldest is about to turn 16 and he will be driving a stick because that makes it nearly impossible to fiddle with your phone.

Honestly, once they learned (and were comfortable driving) a stick, their situational awareness while driving an automatic increased exponentially. The portion of their brain reserved for shifting was now free for other safety conscious decisions and observations. It's pretty cool to see that.

haha, yeah that's about it, other than the Prius retains it's standard production e-driveline, just paired to a V8 instead of the little 3 cylinder or whatever it comes with from the factory.
