Single axle trailer AJ?

Two of my 4 were replaced last year from damage. One nail in the side wall and one gash while going down a ramp (something submerged as I was in the center. Replacing these two as they are 5 years old this June.

On another note...those two other tires were replaced for free by a policy Boatmate adds to their trailers. They put a five yr hazard insurance on the trailer which includes tire replacement. I was blown away when I figured that out when I dialed for help changing the tire and an option for tire replacement was offered.

Carlisle Radial Trail HD, this tires makes use of distinctive heat and wear-proof rubber tread compound that are equipped with high-tensile steel belts.
I read some reviews on website and see the product very great. Maybe take a look at these 2 sites to see what you think..

Beou, the consensus seems to be that Goodyear's old Marathon trailer tires weren't great, and Carlisle may have been a better tire back then, but the new Goodyear Marathons have fixed all that. Anybody promoting a "wear proof rubber tread compound" should be treated with suspicion - or why would we ever need new tires in the first place?

The reviews on the sites you listed are pretty bad, dinging the Marathons for things like not being rated for car or light truck use, etc., and so have been removed. I wouldn't put any stock in those kind of sketchy review sites.

Well, was walking past the boat today and saw this...

Soooo...trying to decide between just getting new tires or getting a wheel/tire combo. My stock wheels have seen better days, but are fine other than looking 20+ years old. Part of me wants some new bling on the trailer, part of me wants that money to stay in my wallet, lol.

Tread wear should not enter into a decision to buy new tires. Tread wear isn’t the issue with them.
New trailer tires are somewhat trustworthy for 5 years. After that....
The tires on my trailer are 3 years old and look brand new. Two more years and then they’re gone.
If you don’t like damaged trailer fenders and hull gashes from shrapnel and tow at highway speed, new tires are cheap insurance.

IMO, trailer tires other than Goodyear Endurance come with a very well deserved poor Chinese quality reputation, and we see the results on the side of our highways every day.

Akor - those wheels can be polished up pretty well with aluminum polish and a foam ball (mothers, etc). I think you may be surprised at how well you could get them looking for $20 in polish and a foam ball for your drill. I swear my old boat trailer had the same wheels.

Or just get new ones. Not sure of your exact size but a quick google search shows roughly $115 or so a piece for new wheels.

Can’t see in the pics, but at some point someone painted 2 of them. Besides, if I buy new I’ll get something more modern.

I did after seeing yours. I was actually looking at the same ones you got, lol. Tire rack is out of stock now, no back order date either. Found the same thing on Walmart’s website as well as eBay, all for the same price. Leaning that way at the moment. Let’s see a pic to motivate me!
