GPS on phone said 49 with me trimming it up a bit at a time. I was on a 200 acre lake with 3-4 other boats so there wasn’t a lot of room to stretch out and play with trim and trim tabs.

I read a boat review from back in the day that reported 55-56.

03 262 with 380 horse and those props will be 55-56 mph. You do not need tabs for high speed as that adds drag. Trimming your outdrive up until just prior to porpoising will net you 3-6 mph as hull can now "breathe" and not dig into the water.

Gotcha.

Ive never had hydraulic trim tabs so I wouldn’t have known they ad drag.

Tach is not working so I don’t know what rpm it may be turning.

Trim gauge is inoperable so I don’t know how high or low the lower unit may have been. I know it was up some.

I don’t think I could have gotten another 5/6 mph out of it so I may have another issue somewhere. I figured I would have the props checked over the winter.

You are kind of flying blind so to speak without a working tachometer ....especially when it comes to prop diagnosing. I would get that looked at first.

WithOut.. a running diagnostic ( tach not working won’t indicate ignition trigger disrupt ) .
As it does sound fuel related give us a report after fresh fuel is added.
Then we can help you throw parts at it.
Tachometer bounce and disruption would have shown you ignition circuit miss. ( plugs, wires, coils).
Let’s get this working as Faria beede has a repair service.

Thanks for the link. I’m going to wait until winter to send it in.
