UPDATE!

Boat passed it's Lake Meade trials with flyin' colors. No more overheating issues. Ran 54 MPH WOT at 4,900 RPM at 160 degrees engine water temp (gauge showed 168).

Gerry did say it will take a little for me to get used to steering a Bravo 3 out drive vs the Volvo DP. Said Volvo steering cylinders are prone to leaking (based upon his shop experience since 1978) but turn incredibly smoothly. Bravo's do not have this issue, however, you are also not able to spin the wheel with just one finger either. Anyone else have experience with this? Our Donzi and Fountain had Alpha and Bravo one drives respectively. Don't remember any stiffness.

My Volvo is very easy. My son was surprised I was going 40+ with no hands straight as a arrow. B3 never had any issues maybe a tad stiffer.

Roger that BBJ. My 262 was the same way with the Volvo.

Gerry mentioned the 263 Merc works very well at speed as of course you have all that hydraulic steering assist. At idle, it felt a little stiff. He thought it would work itself out as the boat gets used since it had been sitting in the Vegas heat for awhile.

He would not replace the steering cable at this time.
I'll let ya know how she does when I do my sea trials with her.

Well wifeee and I just got back from transferring the 263 boat & trailer title's into our names and obtaining the license plate from the local notary. Very exciting until we had to write the $3,000 check for taxes and "fees". Ughhhh. It's a good thing this family boating is a passion of ours!
