Love these post digs from back before I joined! Starting to understand a lot of the inside jokes you guys have.
I do data analytics and reporting for the supply chain department in a large mining company. From AZ originally, got hired in with this company at a mine in Colorado in 2012 and spent 2 years in the Rockies. The mine was an underground mine, got to spend my first week doing safety training 3000 feet underground. That was a cool experience.
I grew up skiing in the winter, so thought I'd love the snow. Wrong. You guys have heard me complain about the cold In early 2014 we decided we had enough of it and moved back to AZ. Fortunately I was able to stay on with the company and now work out of their corporate HQ in downtown Phoenix.

Very cool. I could use some of that AZ heat about now. I'm starting to get twitchy up here

I grew up boating in Florida and Texas (Dad was in the Air Force so we moved around). When my son was old enough to enjoy the boat and water I rented a boat, at the local lake, and he had a great time. He's now 15 and wake boards - gives me crap for not being able to keep up with him. That typically leads to me saying "Back in my day" I was able to do XYZ. We're both competitive but it fun to banter with him.
My current Cobalt 220 is my second boat and I have no intention of giving it up. My wife gets motion sickness so she only gets on the boat if I got slow and then we anchor and float in the water. While I still love to ski and attempt to wake board I enjoy cruising the most - without the wife, but that's her decision .
+1 Drolaw. Relish this time with your son because they grow up quick!
My son is now 25, but when he was 12 he started riding dirtbikes with me. I used to race enduro and cross country in the A Class or Expert. My buddies used to tell me "one of these days he's going ro outrun you" and I always said "yes, but not today". When he was about 16 or 17 we lined up at my place for a 5 mile loop through the woods. We had been smack talking each other all day and eating it up. We still love to smack talk back and forth about how fast we are and how the other rides like a squid.
Well, we lined up that day, and he had that twinkle in his eye. What I didn't know was he had been training pretty hard ( in secret) just to beat me. When we took off I had a wheel on him going into the woods and had the best line but he wasn't going to back off. I didn't want him to crash (because he's my kid, right?) so I chopped the throttle and let him by. He dropped down into my line and dang near took my front end out, and took off, never looking back.
I've been chasing him ever since..
