Volvo had a marinized version of the VW/Audi 3.0L diesel that looked really intriguing, but retail was something around $30k.

Assuming that's the engine still offered on the A40 - cobalt lists it as:

A40 Coupe Volvo Penta Power Selections
•Twin Diesel D6 400 - 400 hp (298 PkW)

Someone should buy one so we can find out how that engines perform. Thunder's Mercedes can tow it, its only a 19,750lb boat. We may need to add a bit more rise to that trailer ball mount he just purchased, but other than that should be fine.
