Funny how it's against the law to discriminate against someone due to race, religion, sexual preference, or age; but you can talk all you want about where they're from.

When my daughter was looking at colleges, I wanted her to look mostly at schools with less than two hour drive. We're just across the Mississippi River from Arkansas. Arkansas State waives out of state tuition for any county that borders them so I asked daughter to consider ASU. She said she didn't want to go to school in Arkansas because people in Arkansas were "Backward". I told her people in Arkansas say the same thing about Mississippi.

IMO,
Truth be told, where people are from, and the culture they were raised in does make a difference. I’m not trying to paint everyone with the same brush, but there are some differences that are undeniable.
I’m from the Buffalo area, while not perfect, the people here are different. It’s more of a helpful attitude towards community. More of a family friendly feel and violence is highly condemned.

We own a place in SW Florida. We visit central Florida a lot, where it seems anything goes..
The news there is 30 minutes long. 25 minutes devoted to rapes, murders, child abuse etc, then the final 5 minutes are divided between weather and sports.
Disagree?
Just pick a date and google “Florida man” to get a taste of what I’m talking about...
It seems like one day’s worth of crazy out of the box crimes can be outdone by tomorrow’s newscast.
Maybe it’s the heat...🥴

It's pretty well known the most entertaining news comes from Florida. Chicago is the worst, and the news doesn't even report on it anymore because it's like beating a dead horse. People lose their minds when a 'mass shooting' happens anywhere, but nobody cares that more people are shot and killed almost every day in Chicago.

I can see that in some areas not covering shootings would make sense, but up here they cover when someone breaks into your shed and steals 5 gal of gas. :x It's a fairly tranquil place.

But lets face it, actions like that drive up fuel costs ;)

WIthout question...Tuscany nailed it on this. Having grown up in the midwest, lived a long time in Texas (yes it's different than the south), moved back to the upper midwest, and dealt with clientele in the deep south, northeast, and west coast, I have been exposed to a wide variety of cultures, upbringing, values, and mindsets. Without a doubt, there are definite differences with respect to attitude, manners, and thought process. I have thoughts on each one, but will keep those to myself (and yes, I definitely have a favorite and a least favorite)....and I also know there are exceptions to every rule.
