If I was Jeeper I would start holding deposits for whomever on this board wants to buy it in 10 years

I currently have a 2001 190 5.0 Volvo Penta that I’ve had since 2006. Before that I had a Chaparral 198 for a few years. Finally I ordered a R5 Surf that is probably being built now. My teenage daughter went wake surfing with friends last summer and has trying to convince me that I needed a Surf boat.
Having Cobalt quality all those years I didn’t even look at any other brands. I hope the new one will be as trouble free as the last one. I’m getting excited to see if even though it will be a few months before it’s warm enough to use it. Until then I guess I continue rock climbing in the Jeep.
And the journey begins! Very exciting for you and Liquid will probably put dibs on her !

Awesome looking combo!

Finally got a chance to take out the new boat today. I was really impressed with the way it handled the rough water and how quiet the boat is. I tried out the surf mode and it seemed to work just fine. One thing I have a issue with is top speed is 42 mph at 5800 rpm’s, I am thinking it has the wrong props. I also think the gauges are off. The lake waters temperature said it was 62 degrees and it was closer to 50. The fuel gauge showed I had 80% left and I filled it with 20 gallons and it’s supposed to be a 50 gallon tank.
I’m going to call the dealer in the morning with my concerns and see what they have to say.

I decided to look at the props on the R5 this morning, I noticed the front prop was a F5 and the rear was a R3. When I called the service manager and told him he was surprised it would go 40 mph. Hopefully they will have it ready next week before I want to head for Lake Powell.

I wonder if it was Volov-Penta that shipped it to Cobalt as a set or Cobalt shipping out like that. When the boat came in the props were in a box.

Exactly. Doesn't anyone look at stuff to make sure they match. I guess I just Double check to many things. Everone is diff I guess. Just frustrates me and I'm sure Matt too as we deal with new vehicles and go crazy at the same time.
