Working on spacers. After seeing that all wiring was labeled, the thought did occur to me to add that subwoofer. If anyone has a photo of rear inside of boat where speakers are on the R5, please post or send them to me. Thanks Pat

Added speakers but looks like the stock radio will not power them. (Fosgate PMX-8BB, 6 speakers in boat now) Any cost effective solutions to power them? Than you for any help

Wow ok, how many adult beverages did you have after you cut holes in your new boat? I couldn't imagine, great work.

As far as cost effective solutions, well yeah cost effective and stereo stuff doesnt always go together. What is powering the 6 in boat speakers now? The PMX-8BB is rated at 25x4 so I would think you have an amplifier in there somewhere? They are usually mounted in the front storage compartment in front of the helm.

Trust me those were the easier ones. Breaking a screw putting in the underwater led's almost sent me to the ER Luckily they came with one extra screw.
Trying to find the PMX8BB unit. Might have to remove panel in that storage compartment.

I have a R3 and added a amp with Nauti's suggestions. My PMX is under dash on port side. To get to it had to climb into the ski storage well and take a partition off to reach up to it. there are a ton of wires there. They are labeled but seemed like each was facing the wrong direction. Have to be a very agile flexible person to do it.

It's cool we can get you there. It's very unlikely that the PMX8 is powering your speakers. You should have some JL Amp's in there somewhere. Here is a factory setup on an R series at the boat show last year. This was in the storage compartment in front of the helm mounted to the back wall. You should have something similar but /w a few less amps.

25x4 means it can send 25 watts to 4 speakers. Max 100 total watts of power. In other words not much. Do you now have 8 speakers or still just 6 total on your boat.

6 currently powered by stock radio. Need to power 2 more. Going to get into that storage panel now.

JL 6.5, Do not stretch your feet out on the porti potti in the R5. You might hit the Fosgate. This is what I found. Thanks again

What stereo option did you get with your boat. Standard or premium, which it's not looking like. Lots of open rca plugs so you may not have a amp. I wonder if they tied all cockpit speakers together and then the bows separate as the frt channel. What do you get when you fade the stereo channels.
