Thinking of a new tow vehicle.

Well I brought home my new tow vehicle the wife's daily driver. 2019 Dodge Durango RT. AWD.
Cant wait to haul with it. But that's going to be a ways off. Prob August. Lots going on this month. This thing is a hoot to drive.

We've talked...lol, but you are going to love it. Our RT pulls like a freight train. I have a 13 Ram and it tows as good or better. It gets better mileage while towing than the Ram for sure. I'm like TJ as well...I'm drooling over a new Ram at the moment. Soon.

I'd take recommendations for a new to me tow vehicle.

Doesn't have to be pretty, as it will be my winter beater and occasional boat hauler only. So very used would be fine. Don't need to worry about mountain passes, pretty much highway roads to Maine and CT and the ME boat ramps (some of which, I understand, can be a bit steep). Boat loaded is probs 8k lbs. I'd probs need 4WD for the occasional ramp and would prefer a 4 door truck or smallish SUV. Like to stay under 10k if I can.

Will be selling my 2001 BMW 325iT (aka wagon) Sport Manual to 'upgrade' to this.

Open to suggestions. Thx T2

Lots of pickups available that fit the bill, but I'd also look at something like a third generation Tahoe that can also haul my gear or a few passengers in relative comfort. Not sure what used prices look like on the coast, but around here the 10 year old ones that have a lot of life left in them are pretty cheap.

I was looking at 2015 escalades and denali's all with just about 100k miles on them and they were the same price as this. That was why I went with this. We will see if we miss the room.

We upgraded the wife’s daily driver and family tow vehicle Friday. We had been looking at used Expeditions for a couple of months, but then they dropped a pile of incentives on the XLT last week. Combined with employee pricing, it made no sense to buy used.
Ignore the fact that both vehicles are dirty. I was a bit surprised at the slight squat. Other than that, it pulls the boat like a dream. My F250 will show about a 25 degree trans temp rise if I pull the boat from the shed to the cabin. The Expy is only showing about a 10 degree rise. Pretty interesting. Looking forward to more towing and maybe the gathering next year.
