Today, March 8th, marks the anniversary death of keyboardist Ron “pigpen” McKernan of the Grateful Dead. He became another member of the fateful “27” Club.

To pigpen...

Nauti & T550, I love your playlists. Great artists there. I'll introduce you to another artist. A little gem our family likes from a little known band out of San Diego, CA. You may hate it but the intent is to broaden our horizons here with this thread. Enjoy some SPG from 2012...
Thanks for sharing A7. I like the music...trying to disassociate the mime makeup guy visual
Have you heard anything off of Breaking Benjamin's Dear Agony album? I had that one on repeat for about 2 months after it came out. It's rare that I like an entire album.
.
Sure t550. So many folks here (like yourself) have such great music insight. Thought I would just start a thread to capture some of that.
To answer your question, I’m not a fan of
Crawl but absolutely love the sound and lyrics to
Give Me a Sign . When Burnley gets his voice into “death metal mode”, I tend to move on.
...& you’re right...Great album overall. ...& great band to come out of my parents little hometown of Wilkes Barre, PA

I wish I was calm enough to enjoy soft music. I’m not...
BTW, how many favorite groups can I have?

Question for you all. I have a home stereo that came out before Bluetooth was something I thought about. I ordered a bluetooth reciever to plug into one of my inputs but was wodering if anyone has some advise on the best way to link my phone to the receiver?

I don’t always listen to Tool.... but when I do, I make sure my neighbors do to.
This one’s great to me as I like the internal dualism between purity & evil temptation that the song & video bring alive. (Btw, I don’t buy into the disharmonious chromosome theory)...

Alan Parsons is a genius— especially with what he did with DSOTM. One of my favorite MFS vinyl albums is the Project’s
Tales of Mystery and Imagination album with its musical poetry collection by Edgar Allen Poe. Listen as this gentleman gets lured into the basement and slowly gets bricked up by his captor. The Cask of Amontillado....

.
On a lighter note, I’m a closet ABBA fan

.
(I love having ABBA & TOOL located in the same post.

Simple bfun220. Buy an Amazon echo dot for $39.99. I have one hooked into my reference system & they are fantastic.
....and you were too fast John. Got me before the edit came in.

From the album "They Only Come Out at Night". Pretty pop, but for it's time it was a great album. I think Rick Derringer played some guitar on the album.

Great idea! I really like Classic Rock, Blues, Fusion Jazz, Classic Country, pretty much any piano music, Instrumental Praise, and Movie Soundtrack scores. Howzzat?
Because of what I do for a living I never really got into any kind of good Fidelity after hearing blaring loud speakers all day long. The first good stereo i ever had installed was actually on my last boat! And I play a guitar and sax so blending into about any genre is fun.
I don't like rap, Swahili, or aborigine music. And while I really enjoy classical I'm not much of an opera fan either.
When I'm traveling alone I rarely turn on the radio anymore. That just now occurred to me and I think it's kind of weird. Probably because over the years I've learned to detune, de-stress, and relish the silence.
When I'm alone in the car I don't listen to the radio or it's on AM. Young me disapproves of this.
I listen to everything... and I mean I pretty much everything.
This is going to take a while for me to catch up on this thread so bear with me folks.
