As long as the tow is local and doesn't involve highway speeds, I wouldn't be afraid to tow it with a Jeep. Braking is always the most important issue. The smaller the vehicle, the smaller the brakes and a greater stopping distance.

Now as for the tide, maybe it's just me. I would turn around and wait out the tide before dunking my entire undercarriage in corrosives. I know what salt does to a vehicle here.
