Just stumbled upon this group and am excited I did. I purchased my first cobalt last summer and absolutely love it. 2004 250 with 209 hours. Has the big block 8.1L Volvo Penta. Got her out of storage today and all cleaned up! Weather sucked so I had to settle for beers in the boat from the drive way... but at least I was back in my boat!

Welcome Fin. Man that’s really low hrs, great find. Driveway boating is still boating in my book. Glad to have you onboard.

Welcome from Oklahoma Fin! That's a good looking boat and that water looks awesome. Where is it at? What part of Iowa are you? My son is in Boone and Bigusblockus is our resident member on Saylorville.

I did get this from Bald Mike! Have you done business with him too? Was a great dude and he know how to clean a boat! He made this thing look brand new.

I’m from Des Moines and do most of my boating at Saylorville Lake. Its not the nicest lake around but it’s the most convenient for us. I see you said you’re from OK, good deal! I have family in Tulsa and am a big Sooner fan!!

I’ve been around boats most of my life. I grew up on a 20 ft maxum, Dad then got a house boat and had some wave runners. Sold that and went to a cruiser. He had a big sea ray. Finally came time to get my own. My uncle is big on crownlines but I just wasn’t convinced. I found my 04 and it was super clean. I see why they say “compromise nothing.” Cobalt just doesn’t cut corners. It was like comparing Cadillac to ford. Also being my first boat, I wanted something reliable, clean and something that would hold its value when it comes time to upgrade!

Very cool fin5143.
We enjoy all boats here on the forum... but there is just something about Cobalt quality that makes them so nice. That St. Clair family touch was sure appreciated.
Now that Malibu is steering the ship, we are hoping some of their quality will cross pollinate with each other.
Thanks for posting.....and keep those pics comin'. We luv them here.

Bigblockus also bought his boat from him.
We are great friends. Trying to get him and I to open up Bald Mike's north!
I actually was going to buy that boat to flip but I already had one extra in my stable so I called him and told him to buy it. There's not too many red 250's in Iowa so I was pretty sure it was the one. Congrats.
